Technology transfer

Research consultancy, carried out in collaboration of university professors and technicians, in the fields of materials and structural engineering.

Advanced structural analysis

Advanced and non-linear numerical modeling of civil and industrial structures such as pressure vessels, structural part of nuclear reactors and fuel elements, large rotary machines for chemical plants, valves and massive concrete structures (dams, port docks).

Modeling of multiphysics couplings: chemical-mechanical (corrosion-induced damage), thermomechanical, radiation-matter interaction.

Experimental mechanics

Design of test campaigns for the experimental characterization of materials and structures with load range from 0.01N to 5000kN with innovative optical and electromagnetic techniques.

Advanced methods for the characterization of nanostructured materials: SEM, XRD, vibrational spectroscopies (Brillouin and Raman).

Special materials

Design of special materials and coatings in extremely aggressive environmental conditions: optimization of cement mix design for ports and offshore structures, coating for nuclear reactors (LFR), corrosion protection strategies for metallic materials in contact with highly corrosive solutions, cathodic protection systems for metallic and RC structures.
